What the work looks like

Sales VAs call and message leads, qualify them, handle objections and book meetings for the client's closers. Most work in the client's time zone with a CRM and a dialer.

What to check before you apply

  1. Whether roles are inbound follow-up, cold outreach or both
  2. How targets are set and whether they're realistic
  3. Coaching and call-review support for new setters
  4. Reviews about management style and pressure

And never pay to apply: real agencies are paid by their clients. See how to spot a fake offer.

Questions people ask

Is appointment setting a good VA job for beginners?

It can be, if you're comfortable on the phone. Results are easy to measure, which helps you build a track record quickly. Expect a role-play or mock call in the hiring process.

Do sales VA jobs pay commission?

Some roles include performance bonuses on top of a base; others are hourly only. Read each offer carefully, and be wary of commission-only offers from unknown companies.

What does an appointment-setting agency test?

Usually a recorded or live mock call, how you handle common objections, and your spoken English and clarity.

Scores blend our six-criteria rubric (70%) with fit for this field (30%). We don't score pay. Facts are as published by each agency and on Indeed and Glassdoor, checked in October 2026. Spotted an error? Tell us.
